All of the results derived from the matching law (Appendix B) and Herrnstein s formulation (Appendix C) follow from melioration. This will be seen in the following sections.
Melioration may be the basic process underlying the matching of relative response rates to relative reinforcement rates on concurrent schedules. To see this we look separately at combi nations of specific types of concurrently programmed schedules.
