ABSTRACT

This exercise focuses on: acknowledging, rebuilding, and continuing positive aspects of relationships; and on gestures and behaviors that are considered special, regardless of their frequency of occurrence at this time. The exercise can be used with families, or with groups such as a pool of workers. By modifying the exercise to fit the setting and membership, all can become more appreciative of each other. By reacquainting couples with why they fell in love, the spark can often be rekindled and the fires roar again. The exercise is intended for one couple, but could also be used with groups of couples. The trainer may need to caution participants that this is an exercise which looks only at the positives in relationships, and that it is not a time to get into negatives, or for it to become a gripe session.
