ABSTRACT

This exercise, which was adapted from bingo and roadway signs, used to help group or family members along the road to better and more rewarding relationships. Participants identify common roadway signals and translate the symbols and meanings to the area of the interpersonal and family relationships. The family may use the Signals Bingo Card for each member to keep a log of these activities for a specific time period. The exercise applies principles from learning theory to help the participants build better relationships. Such a discussion could go on for a rather lengthy time and be used to develop a value hierarchy of "What We Most Value in Relationships". If the training session is conducted in a corporate or a school setting, the group might find it beneficial to develop a set of signals to place at strategic places in their setting as a way to promote greater transfer of learning.
