The individual’s preferred perceiving styles have a profound effect upon whether or not a particular change is viewed as an exciting opportunity or stressful and defined as a problem. Two individuals present in the same decision situation often perceive different problems and possibilities due to their unique perceiving styles, personal values and resources, past experiences, and psychological orientations.
