ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses specialized techniques for the four major categories of sexual abuse: homosexual abuse, sexual assault, incest and long-term child sexual abuse. It presents a series of problems that tend to occur during treatment with each type of sexual abuse and then to suggest treatment techniques. The First and Most Serious Problem. When the survivor experiences sexual pleasure, orgasm and/or ejaculation as a result of the seductive homosexual abuse a serious problem occurs. The Second Problem involves the old concept of 'once a, always a' This subjective-judgment or perception must be eradicated or no changes will occur. This subjective-judgment usually occurs in survivors of long-term, seductive homosexual abuse. The Third Problem involves subjective-guilt issues. While associated with defective self-image, subjective-guilt is a separate and distinct issue. The Fourth Problem deals with socialization needs. The social life of these survivors is usually either very poor or nonexistent.
