Job Satisfaction: Does Automation Make a Difference?
The infusion of technology into all types of library activity changes the way in which professionals, support staff and library users work. These changes may affect the way staff view their work. Attitudes about work are not stable over time nor do they simply reflect whether a particular employee is a “ happy” person. The work environment and the type of job done affect individual attitudes. At a time of rapid change in the use of technology in libraries, one is led to question whether such change affects worker satisfaction. Does technology make a difference on how people feel about their work?
