How to Help a Client Solve a Problem

Clients and frlends come to a helper because they are having a problem. Sometimes they simply need to talk about the problem situation. In these, the counselor's responsibility is to be a good listener and help the client ventilate his or her feelings. The skills of listening actively, reflecting feelings, and open-ended question-asking will be very effective in helping a person do this.
