ABSTRACT

For a long time I have been intrigued by the possibility of modeling physical systems in Logo. One of the first demonstrations of Apple Logo I saw was given by a philosopher friend of mine, Peter Danielson. He ended with a demonstration of procedures to implement a dynamic turtle, called the Dynaturtle (created by Andy diSessa; see Abelson, 1982), and talked cryptically about the possibility of creating classes of “velocity turtles.”
