ABSTRACT

The second of the conference symposia dealt with the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, which Howard Gardner, of Project Zero, Harvard University, developed in his book, Frames of Mind (Gardner, 1983). Dr. Gardner began with an exposition of his Theory; Jonathan Baron, of the University of Pennsylvania, and Robert Sternberg, of Yale University, then engaged with him in a critical discussion, that was moderated by David Perkins, of Project Zero, Harvard University. An edited version of these proceedings follows, with a bibliography of references at the end. It should be noted that some of the questions that were directed to the participants by Dr. Perkins were based on submissions from members of the audience.
