ABSTRACT

Throughout the preceding chapters, I have mentioned numerous specific problems for future research. In this chapter, I wish to propose and discuss briefly four general areas of nonverbal behavior that I believe are important and would be very fruitful for the future researcher to investigate. These four areas are:

The use of nonverbal behavior to measure change in psychotherapy.

The contribution of nonverbal behavior to one’s sensory experience.

Developmental changes in nonverbal behavior.

The embodiment of interpersonal relations.
