Face Processing and Brain Damage: Group Studies

Like other gnosic, mnemonic, and praxic cognitive activities, the visual processing of human faces by brain-damaged subjects often has been studied. The purpose of such research either was to define more precisely the differential functional properties of hemispheric structures (by both within-and betweenhemisphere comparisons), or to search for dissociations in the cognitive mechanisms in order to test hypotheses issuing from experimental psychology.
