ABSTRACT

In this paper I first summarize some of the most salient points raised by Goodnow, Knight, and Cashmore (this volume), and comment on their suggestions. I them provide a more family based perspective on the concept of change which they used as a central theme. In addition, I propose some alternative theoretical and methodological approaches that could be considered if the concept of change was investigated at the family level rather than the individual level.
