Novelty I Novelty and the Focus of Attention

Evidence from Chapter 3 indicates that attribution of causality is influenced by the degree of focalization associated with cognized effects and events that may qualify as possible causes. Data also indicate that the degree of focalization associated with events is directly related to the extent to which attention focuses on those events. This relationship implies that factors affecting the focus of attention will influence the casual-attribution process.
