ABSTRACT

Most contemporary observers would probably agree that a significant gap exists between sex therapy and marriage and family therapy. Some therapists have even stated that, all too often, the only time they hear the pairing of the words "sexuality" and "family" it means incest! This, indeed, is a sad commentary on, yet perhaps an apt reflection of, the polarization of sex therapy and family therapy. This chapter attempts to address this void by focusing on the connecting threads that weave family-systems issues and sexual issues.
