ABSTRACT
Few family therapists are aware of the emergence and scope of a specialty within their field. Supervisors themselves, when asked to name the source that has influenced them most, are more likely to cite a clinical paper or book than a reference from the training and supervision area. At workshops on supervision, a common participant lament can be heard: "I'm here to learn more about family-therapy supervision since there isn't much written on the topic."
