ABSTRACT

The ethics and mandate of therapy are seldom fully recognized. The apparent disintegration of lasting human relationships may impinge on posterity with heavy consequences. As high mobility, loss of relational continuity, and fast rates of change diminish security in adults, parents will increasingly turn to their children for the fulfillment of their adult emotional dependency needs. In remarried families, children are often expected to fit in with enthusiasm equal to that of their remarrying parent joining a new mate.
