ABSTRACT
Essentially, family therapy cou ld be done with only the wife-to-be in the office, but if he had refused to come in under those condi t ions , I don' t know what else cou ld have been done to help the system creatively grow into marriage except to work with only the woman and have her carry the proper changes back into the family in the right order. So there are two things you can do . You can either do the family therapy with a single indiv idual or you can attack another element of the system with interventions that w i l l cause a ripple effect throughout the entire system. In this case, it happened both ways. This husband was encouraged to come into therapy when the threat had been reduced enough so that he cou ld come . Does that make sense? I think that is k ind of a nice example .
