ABSTRACT

You already use suggestions with families. You really can’t communicate verbally and avoid using these language forms. So all we have to do now is show you how you do it and help you improve on it by acquainting you with some options you may not currently be doing automatically. We’re going to talk first about using indirect suggestions and binds in the context of achieving general-purpose, nonhypnotic goals in family therapy; but we will work our way into suggestions and binds for use in creating trance and for specific learning goals in the family. They are really the same language forms and all that varies are the particular goals being addressed.
