ABSTRACT

This case study deals with a transitional intervention designed to achieve continuity for two young children where changing therapists became a necessity. The previous therapist, a caseworker, felt she had another role other than therapist to play in the unfolding drama of the girls' lives. She might be required to conduct the legal transfer of the children from one home to another. It was felt that the therapy transfer was necessary to keep the boundary issues clear and to possibly mirror for the girls a successful transfer for their future. However, the caseworker planned to continue participating in therapy by observing through a one-way mirror and meeting with the therapist at the end of each session to discuss case issues.
