ABSTRACT

Storytelling is a very powerful technique that transcends specific therapy schools. Its power comes in part because of the special place we all give and remember of storytelling in our own childhood. It can be seen as a reframe and thus be thought of as effecting an indirect change, thus pertaining to a strategic framework. It can be seen as having a profound effect and helping clients to "experience" through identification something different, thus pertaining to a symbolic-experiential theoretical framework.
