ABSTRACT

In this series of interventions, the therapist used the metaphor of "clean living" as a dangerous venture and the making of "funeral plans" to forecast caution in a cocaine addict's future. After reading the summary results of the addict's MMPI and Millon Batteries, it was determined that the coke addict's love of danger could be used to color the challenge of living drug-free after 28 days of inpatient treatment, thereby "exciting" the addict to try to live drug free.
