ABSTRACT

There has been an increasing emphasis and focus on undergraduate education, including the field work course. To determine the factors that contribute to student satisfaction in field placement, the Student Practicum Satisfaction Questionnaire (SPSQ) was developed and utilized to survey students in the eleven accredited undergraduate programs in Virginia. This study reports on the demographic and attitudinal variables which related to student satisfaction in practicum. Implications for placement decisions, for the field curriculum, and for agency personnel are addressed.
