ABSTRACT

The challenge, as the twenty-first century is within arm’s reach, is for all people to understand that the world we once knew is rapidly changing and that we must decide how to get along and help one another. Cooperation is essential for the preservation of humanity and of the life-sustaining environment, whether one considers fairly homogeneous societies or diverse ones. Nevertheless, to be useful, analyses and recommendations must address specific societies or characteristic aspects of a given society. To that end this book addresses American pluralistic society and its cultural components.
