ABSTRACT

The CHAT system is designed to provide the transcriber with a toolbox of codes that can be adapted as needed to match the special needs involved in individual research projects. In this chapter, we examine several special topics for which specific adaptions of CHAT can be recommended. These include code-switching and the simultaneous use of signed and spoken language.
