ABSTRACT

Naturalistic Decision Making (NDM) researchers have looked at how teams make decisions, and they have begun applying these findings to help teams improve. This chapter addresses four questions: What have we learned about team decision making (TDM) since the NDM conference 5 years ago? What are the major problems NDM researchers face when conducting research on teams? What problems are encountered when applying research findings to help teams improve and how can they be overcome? What issues are ripe for future TDM research?
