ABSTRACT
In 1980, the year the National Head Injury Foundation (NHIF) was founded, the founders, including parents and siblings, along with a handful of professionals, were concerned about obtaining basic medical and family support services for persons with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Little did they dream that one day there would be international meetings on the study of brain injury.
