ABSTRACT
The adoption of the discourse on determinacy and indeterminacy in the context of modern cognitive science is controversial, but it is of the utmost importance. For instance, at the micro level, some psychological phenomena look indeterminate (i.e., their causes seem to change over time), but at the macro level causation itself may vary at some deterministic pace. If we have a choice, we should prefer to see deterministic causality, because that is the basis of science itself, yet, the nature of psychological phenomena provides us with challenges that undermine the use of deterministic models.
