ABSTRACT
The brain can be viewed as an infonnation processing system using neurons as the individual information processing elements. Our goal is to learn how the processing done by these individual elements contributes to the complex properties of cognition, particularly perception and memory. We have used our analytic results to form models that describe the functions of individual neurons.
