ABSTRACT
The application of dual scaling to sorting data is due to Takane (1980a), who discovered that one of his preferred methods of analyzing sorting data is exactly the same as dual scaling applied to a transposed variant of the response-pattern matrix. This format has already been looked at in chapter 3.
