ABSTRACT

At 2:05 a.m. on January 18, 1991, sirens were sounded throughout Israel. Awakened by the sirens, the residents of Israel fearfully donned their gas masks and closed themselves into their sealed rooms. Within less than 90 seconds, Iraqi Scud missiles descended on different areas of Tel Aviv and Haifa, causing injuries and extensive damage. Saddam Hussein’s threats had become a reality, and the residents of Israel found themselves involved in the Gulf War.
