ABSTRACT
In this chapter we introduce a vocabulary for everyday anomalies and illustrate how it can be used to guide search through the space of possible explanations. We describe the portion of our vocabulary that organizes anomalies involving planful behavior, illustrating how the vocabulary is used to characterize anomalies and suggest explanation strategies.
