ABSTRACT

The psychodynamics of everyday life includes four main clusters of common affects and motivations. Two are interpersonal: attractive reactions such as sociability, friendship, and love; and aversive reactions such as blame, unfairness, envy, and jealousy. The third includes the positive affects and motivations of vocation and avocation; and the fourth includes the corresponding aversive reactions, as well as fears, phobias, and generalized anxieties.
