ABSTRACT
Miriam still struggles at times with others perception of her sexual orientation, and she found it difficult when she realized that she would be in what was ostensibly a lesbian relationship despite being straight. She explained that sometimes a girls brain winds up in a boys body, and sometimes a boys brain is in a girls body. They explained that, for the time being, when we went out in public, Dad would be Gregg. Although it will make a profound difference in their physical relationship, they will deal with it as we have with the other issues that have arisen: with love, with humor, and together with God. They thank God for the wonderful, unique relationship that they have. Even the homophobia and transphobia she encountered among her spiritual peers did not deter her from her support of her spouse, despite initially finding herself questioning whether Satan might be leading her astray.
