ABSTRACT
Bernadette discovered that Gene was a cross-dresser in a truly shocking way. She found out about Gene's cross-dressing in a very disturbing way. Its one thing to discover clothes or a Web site trail, but its shocking on a whole different level for ones initial exposure to her husband's gender variance to be seeing him live or even on video cross-dressed. Bernadette tends to be quite introspective, and she is aware that she has a need for control over her life. She finds it difficult to achieve that in her relationship with Gene, but has tried nonetheless via various means. She wrote in her journal, and she expressed her feelings to Gene, but she couldn't seem to get him to reciprocate. She joined an online support group and even got herself and Gene to a SPICE conference, where she learned more about cross-dressing and gained understanding of Gene.
