When I started my career as a lesbian psychotherapist in the mid-’70’s, lesbian feminist culture was in high gear. The delights of les bian love were celebrated in our bookstores and galleries, at our coffee houses and festivals. But despite the siren songs of Meg Christian and Margie Adam and Chris Williamson, not all of us were feeling liberated and lusty. No sooner had I opened my practice than lesbian couples came in complaining of sexual problems. Either one or both partners had lost their desire.
