Life Through Gray-Colored Lenses

Sandy is a fifteen-year-old survivor, who has been sexually abused by her cousin, her brothers, and her father. Sandy has clear memories of the sexual abuse by her cousin, but as she tries to remember the details of the abuse by more closely related family members, the details become more and more difficult to remember. In order to deal with the fear of losing her brothers and father if she discloses the abuse, Sandy simply had to "forget" that the abuse had ever happened.
