Lessons for Parents
As parents we need to learn new ways of relating to our children. My story in the fIrst chapter points out that I needed to understand my daughter's disability and then view our interactions through a different lens. I needed to break my mind-set that Manuela was just an obstinate and troublesome child. The story I related about Jimmy in Chapter 6 points out that other parents get caught in the same type of rigid thinking as I did. This chapter deals with our need as parents to relate to our ADD children differently.
