Putting It All Together
As you review the material in the first chapter you may believe that your child does exhibit ADD behavior. But do remember that this information is not meant to be used for diagnosis. Should you believe your child has ADD, investigate further. Get your child tested for ADD. Child psychiatrists, some pediatricians, some psychologists, some marriage and family counselors, and some clinical social workers can test your child if they are familiar with ADD treatment. Inquire throughout your community until you find a professional who has experience working with this specialty. You may find the school your child attends provides testing ofthis kind. Contacts with your child's teachers are important. The specialist testing your child most likely will want information from school resources.
