ABSTRACT

Individual therapy as an adjunct to SO group and other interventions can be a very helpful and important mode of treatment (Ryan and Lane, 1998). Furthermore, in a multi-component model, which requires a high level of coordination, individual therapy can serve as the linchpin that helps the client to organize and coordinate his work in the various components. If the individual therapist is also one of the SO group facilitators, is present in the program’s other therapy groups, and is the SO family therapist, the ability for individual therapy to be a unifying force is greatly increased.
