ABSTRACT
With each passing month in Chungking, I realized more clearly how much the city was enriching my life. This was particularly true with regard to individual contacts. Of these, none was more important than that with Doctor Strobel, whose consuming passion for perfection in his work taught me more than I have any means of estimating.
