ABSTRACT
Since I was the only foreign physician on the staff. my recreation was limited to odd times and places. At the hospital I was on twenty-four hour call, and the civic authorities had granted me a pass permitting me to be on the streets at any time of night, a privilege not accorded the average citizen.
