ABSTRACT

This chapter will theoretically and experientially explore the individual and organisational capacities and competencies currently proving most useful in dealing with the increasingly complex conditions as people and organisations move towards the third millennium. It draws from the cutting edges of psychology, cultural theory, organisational behaviour and the new sciences. It explores conceptually as well as from personal and organisational experience important principles of consulting, counselling, developing, training, surviving and even thriving in conditions of chaos and complexity by enlisting the productive, creative and satisfying aspects of psychological, organisational and cultural uncertainty. The chapter will cover relevant theoretical and practical knowledge and explore new paradigm attitudes, skills and behaviours. A composite fictionalised case study will be used throughout to illustrate, with fractal examples of the consultancy as a whole, the process at work.
