ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents an overview of key concepts covered in the preceding chapters of the book. This book re-interpreted five Korean artists and craftsmen's past lives and learning, which involved many decisions being made along the way. This study aims to understand the influence of the sociocultural-historical context on learning as it contributes to the construction of people's lives. In particular, it will examine how the twentieth-century Korean sociocultural-historical context and the lifelong learning of Korean people co-construct one another. A main theme of the book is the description of images of learning without tagging education to it, as the five people's lives by and large has nothing to do with the education system. Using the five Korean artists and craftsmen's lives and learning, the chapter depicted their rhizoactivity in terms of four figurations: Escaping, creating, controlling and formalizing. These four figurations can contribute to differently producing images of the learner and learning.
