Starting points and rules of engagement
This chapter reports, analyzes and draws implications from the early stages of the school’s project for the leadership and management of multidimensional innovations in schools. The chapter provides a narrative which is derived from many data sources in the school project: questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Though many of these data sources were numerical, the chapter studiously avoids reporting the detailed tables of data that were used in the evaluation of the innovation, as these present unnecessarily local, parochial close-grained data. Rather, the chapter reports the key findings in textual form, combining numerical and qualitative data.
