ABSTRACT

As the stories in the previous chapter reflect, most couples who progress through the steps outlined in this book and who have engaged in intimate and reparative conversations have put a lot of energy into rebuilding their relationship bond. Couples talk about the quality of their attachment bond in terms of closeness, tuning into each other, reaching and responding, sharing experiences and confiding fears and insecurities. At the heart, it is about feeling secure enough to be who you are and knowing that your partner will be there for you.All that is left is to develop strategies for maintaining the connection you have worked so hard to establish. In this chapter we will look at how to keep each other close, now that you have found each other again, and how to address any remaining unresolved issues, including the important area of sexuality.
