ABSTRACT
We introduced leisure education in the preceding chapter, albeit specifically as it figures in therapeutic recreation. In the present chapter we examine the educational extension of the SLP in broader terms through its central relationship to adult education and self-directed learning. With these three as background we then move on to discuss leisure in the life course as mapped according to the routes of lifelong learning and self-directed learning. But, first, what is the scope of leisure education?
