ABSTRACT

It is worth considering that the time children spend at home on Information and Communication Technology is greater than they spend in school. Children now have access to sources of information of a wider and higher quality than they experience in school. Television and videos provide astonishing images of the natural world which can capture children’s imaginations and substantially influence their attitudes to science. In recent years, the clichéd image of the crazy scientist in the white coat has been replaced with young enthusiastic and charismatic presenters whom children can aspire to emulate.
