ABSTRACT

Female sexual interest/arousal disorder is a common condition frequently presented to sexual medicine clinics and psychosexual therapy practitioners. The defi nition of this disorder has recently changed with the introduction of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders ( DSM-5 ) (APA, 2013) but is still referred to as female sexual arousal disorder in the 10th edition of the World Health Organization’s international classifi cation of disease (1992). Before summarizing the main areas of change, we will present the defi nitions proposed in DSM IV-TR (APA, 2000).
