ABSTRACT

Ensuring postsecondary opportunities for all students remains a persistent challenge. Over the past decade a variety of college resource websites have been developed to provide students with information about postsecondary institutions and financial aid. Most recently, diverse college resource mobile applications and games have gained popularity as tools to help students navigate the complicated process of learning about and applying to college (College Summit, 2013; Corwin, Frome, & Groark, 2014). Yet little is known about this rapidly evolving “e-space” for college learning, in particular with regards to the experiences of first generation and/or low-income students (Corwin, Tierney, Fullerton, & Ragusa, 2014; Get Schooled Foundation, 2013). This makes it increasingly difficult for educators and college support staff in high schools to determine which application or other resources best meet the needs of their diverse students.
