ABSTRACT

The subject of Islam and Islamic education is extremely topical in Russia as well as worldwide at the moment. Islamic education in Russia has experienced rapid growth since the early 1990s (Raev, 2011 ; Murtazin, 2011a ). Over the last 20 years, this sector has attracted the attention of Muslims seeking religious knowledge after 70 years of State atheism, and from the State and society in order to understand hidden features and assess the potential risks of unresolved issues emerging. It is clear that at the international level the issue of Islamic education in Russia has not been researched enough and discussed. It can be said that the issues of Russian Muslims often remain buried.
